Haihaisoft Universal Player crashes to open a video

Does anyone know why Haihaisoft Universal Player crashes with this error whenever I try opening a video?

Haihaisoft Universal Player crashes to open a video

Dear Peter,

Make sure the Installer version of DVD player is same as your Operating System. Go to the properties of the DVD player under compatibility select Win XP Service Pack 3 and run as Administrator, it will not crash. Secondly try repair of the Player by reinstalling it from setup.

You will get the following windows when you Right Click the Software
