Got an error when Mac is used probably printer driver problem

I suddenly got this error message (see below) every time I use my Mac.

The application LOGINserver quit unexpectedly

Mac OS X and other applications are not affected.

Click Relaunch to launch the application again.Click Report to see more details or send a report to Apple.

I wasn’t sure why though but the last thing I did before was to install a new printer, a Brother brand.

This might have been the cause but I wasn’t so sure.

Does anyone from this forum know the resolution?

Please help.

You are right, this is the Brother Printer Driver issue. You will sometimes notice that the printer icon also disappears from the desktop.

  • You need to perform the following steps:
  • Uninstall the existing printer
  • From the system preferences run a software update
  • Download the updated driver from this site
  • Installed the driver for the MFC-9420CN from the above link
  • Reinstall your printer

Restart the system

Your error should be history

Hello alex,

As far I have studied about this problem I got few satisfactory solutions. I am telling you two and in my opinion anyone of those should work out. First one is just uninstall the previous driver and look for the latest driver and uninstall the brother software, now reboot and install the new driver and the software. Also try to unplug and re-plug the printer to it.

Another way is to by deleting the login server, just go to “macintosh HD” than “library” and go to “printers” than “brother” find out the folder utilities and then servers. Now delete the server folder. Now the login server problem should not appear.

Thank you,
