Is the Google site really the better search engine than the Yahoo! site?

Here in our country, the majority of the internet users are into Yahoo!  I'm willing to try other sites that might be better, as to break the norm in some way. Since most of my friends are in Yahoo!, Would I have trouble with some apps in connecting with them? What are your thoughts on this?

Hi Carloarki!

There is no doubt that Google is the premier search engine in the world today. If you try it, you can see the fast and multitude of searches. Google can  help you find anything.  I have read  in an article that Google is better because of its mechanism.

Google runs over millions of servers in information centers throughout the world. It processes over billions of search requests.  It has twenty-four pet bytes of consumer generated information a day. With this service,  it's really the search engine to beat.

You can link your Google and Yahoo! Through FaceBook. If you're willing to keep them, it will keep you updated and have an easier access to both. If you are prompt on the site to link your account,  then proceed and verify if needed.

Here are the steps:
Just open FaceBook.com and log-in into your account.
Go to Account > Account Settings, then click ‘Change’ button next to the linked account option.
Select the type of account that you want to link: Google, Yahoo, etc from the drop down box.
Then click ‘Link to new account(s)’ button.
Click ‘Allow’ button on the authorization screen.

After linking successfully, all the link accounts will be displayed on the "linked accounts" under option "Account Settings" screen. You can click on "remove" button next to any linked account to remove respective linking with FaceBook account. This will process all your information updates and will be seen in the news feed and knowledge from your Yahoo! And Google friends alike.

No doubt Google is more famous than yahoo and that's why we used to say ' you can Google it' not 'you can yahoo it' LOL.

If you have friends mostly in yahoo then you can directly connect them with yahoo messenger. But Google is better than yahoo due to other reasons which are:

1. Provide various types of features and facility such as gmail, documents, youtube and maps etc.

2. A reliable and fast source for use.

3. More than 146 million users of gmail make it easy to communicate internationally.

4. Keep on providing significant solutions and ways as time changes.

5. Does not cost to the user for mostly purpose. Even Android OS is free.

There shouldn't be any trouble if you use a different search engine than what the majority in your country use or what your friends use.

Google is the most widely used search engine today. It's fast, delivers good results and has a good variety of other services as well. If your friends use Yahoo services like Yahoo! Mail, there shouldn't be any problems sending emails to them using services from other providers like Gmail. Of course linking services would be much easier if you are all using the same provider, but the impact should be minimal as usually the only advantage of having the same provider in a group for a number of services is, it's a step easier compared to different providers.
