Getting Windows 7 compatibility issues with some programs

Actually, the problem is not with your operating system if you are referring to Microsoft Windows 7. It is the program you run under Windows 7 that has compatibility issues. But since you have Microsoft Windows XP as your other operating system, there is a work around on this so you can run Windows XP programs in Windows 7.

To run a program in Windows 7 that you know has a compatibility issue, right-click on the program then select Properties. Select Compatibility tab and then check “Run this program in compatibility mode for”. From the dropdown list, select a version of Microsoft Windows XP and then click OK. See image.

After this, when you run the program again in Windows 7, the application will operate in compatibility mode for Windows XP. See if this fixes the problem. I also do this on some of my programs but there are ones that doesn’t support it. If this happens, install the latest version that is compatible with Microsoft Windows 7.
