Getting OLAP Cube Building to Work?

Hi,

I wonder what might be the reason behind why no members of the SASUSERS group are allowed to create OLAP Cubes. I encountered this error "The security package failed while authenticating a user". My system seems to work well, I have no error encountered in the past days, regular maintenance was observed and pretty well guarded from intruder.

After I saw that warning message, it came to my mind first to restart the system. So to have a fresh start, but it seems same thing happens as stated above. I am also wondering, what if I will remediate this to allow the SASUSERS group to have WriteMetadata Access on the OLAP Schema? Please help me by giving some suggestion regarding this issue.

Getting OLAP Cube Building to Work?

The easiest way to start resolving the above error message is to change your default security. We just need to allow the SASUSERS from OLAP schema to have WriteMetadata Access. Another way is to have OLAP create a group that has the ability to manage Cubes. 

1. On SAS management console, please go to Authorization Manager.

2. Please go to Resource Management then By Type.

3. Please go to OLAPSchema and Select Properties.

Hello Alexrods,

SAS server is actually a kind of application server and as you use it so you know almost everything about this. Now let’s see why this kind of error is popping up. As for sure this is a security issue and the users are not getting authentication from the server. I was trying to find something that can help you to do it manually I mean from the inside of the server. But unfortunately I did not get so much information for this. Please download speedypc from the internet. Install that and that will fix SEC_E_INTERNAL_ERROR just as a magic.
