Virtualization is to use many operating systems on one machine. Virtual machine allows you to run any operating system on your PC. They provide a base to run software on your OS that are made to work on others. How to get Linux virtual machine on Windows 7?
To Get Linux Virtual Machine On Windows 7 To Attain Virtualization
1) VIRTUAL BOX
-> Program made by Oracle.
-> Basic work is to power the virtualization process.
-> Download the virtual box from the Internet.
-> Run the extension and install it.
2) DOWNLOAD LINUX
-> Download Linux operating system according to your choice and convenience.
At the end you will have an ISO file in the Download folder.
3) SETUP VM

Open virtual box and then click on OK.

Provide the VM with a name.

Open the Type drop-down menu and select Linux version.

Select the memory size.

From the Hard drive file type, press VDI.

Choose the type of storage. You can either press dynamically allocated that can be expanded when required or Fixed size that has a static memory size.Â

You can give the file a name and the location to store it.
4) INSTALL LINUX OS  Select your VM and then click on Start.

You will be re-directed to the start-up disk.

Next to the drop-down menu, click on the icon.

A file explorer window will open.

Search for your ISO file that you downloaded earlier.

Select the file and press on Start.

You will be taken to the Boot up options for this guest OS. Remember that you won’t be affecting the files present on the host.

Follow the on-screen instructions.

After the installation process, you can use both Windows and Linux OS.
