What are the detailed features of Freelancer Desktop App for Mac OS? Is there a difference in terms of features among this app for Mac OS and that of Windows? Is it possible to have a one application that is compactible for say both Windows and Apple? Why do most app developers do design these apps specifically for each Operating System?

Freelancer Desktop for Mac and its detailed features

Hi Scott,

There is basically no difference between a window and Mac OS version of the freelancer desktop app in terms of features.

Both of the versions have the same features. Your desktop app can track your working time on a project. Although it takes random screenshots on its own, you can also manually take screenshot for further reference. In addition, you can create invoice although the app will transfer you to the web page. Don't forget that you can also migrate mini portfolio through the app.

For your other questions, the developers need to design an app for each of the operating system because the programming language and other architecture are different. For example, Mac OS understands Objective – C, whereas Windows uses C, C++, C#.  

Furthermore, it is possible to write an application for both of the OS using Java Virtual Machine.
