Force Outlook to Send Attachments

I was wondering how to force Outlook in Windows XP to allow sending file attachments in .mdb file format. Recently a warning appeared on my screen: "Outlook Express has removed a dangerous attachment".  I wondered how it did happen as these attachments were allegedly virus free. Any kind of help will be much appreciated. Thanks!

The reason why that error appears is that because the file can have a virus. So Microsoft’s solution is to delete the file. Try to scan that file maybe the files is not really virus free. .exe.com, .doc, .xls ,.pif, .js ,.vbs,.ws ,.scr are file format that are  prone to viruses so Microsoft prevent you from downloading or attaching files especially in that file format.  But in outlook there is a feature to turn off that Microsoft solution for deleting malicious files. If you don’t want outlook to protect you from virus you can turn off that feature. Hope it helps.

Hi,

There are two solutions two your problem.

  1. Converts your mdb file format to some portable format and send it attached and inform your user to re-convert it mdb file again. You can search internet for mdb file format converter and easily download and install it. Otherwise do it using you Ms Access. Export this file to any other format that is supported on outlook.
  2. Other way is compress this file and convert it zip or WinRAR format and send it freely without disabling antivirus or changing any other settings.

I will never recommend you to disable antivirus software as it will expose your computer to threats and even if you send the email it will be blocked on the server. WinRAR is good software to compress files so use it to the tasks like this.
