Flame Virus Now Threatens Microsoft’s Update System

Malware attack on Microsoft has surprised the entire human community. Microsoft has recalled the certificates exploited by flame malware. Hijacking windows update is trivial because the updates must be signed by Microsoft. But the flames bypassed this restriction using a certificate that allows improper code signing.

Symantec and Kaspersky labs are doing researches to stop this malware threat. Kaspersky labs has come up with a way to find out if a computer has been infected.

Flame Virus Now Threatens Microsoft’s Update System

Companies now plan to verify the certificates in order to prevent the attack by use of unauthorized digital certificate. Although tools like BitDefender are available to remove the malware, but companies now need to plan a proactive approach for active monitoring of all updates.
