Asked By 0 points N/A Posted on -

My Windows Firewall service either disconnects or won't connect at all, or usually, I get the error code 0x80070424 or 0x6D9.

What should I do?

To fix this problem, we need to get and Install the BFE registry,

Please follow the steps below:

Get the BFE Registry (or you can get them from another Computer:

  • Lunch these two files and import them to the registry, and then reboot your Computer.
  • Once you computer is ON, Open the Registry Editor (you can open it by typing “regedit” in the RUN window) and navigate to: KEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetservicesBFE
  • Right click on it and in the Popup menu select Permission, Click on ADD to create a new group, then hit on OK.
  • Once added select this new group and allow it to have Full Control in the permission part below.
  • Click OK to validate.
  • Now try again to start you firewall (you can do this by typing services.msc in RUN)

Hello Robert,

  • First, you will need to download the registry files, or just get the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetservicesBFE from another working Win7 PC.
  • After that you will launch and import them to registry
  • And then you will restart your PC
  • After that, you will need to open RUN and then type regedit and click ok
  • Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetservicesBFE
  • After that you will right click on it-permissions, and then click on ADD and type Everyone and then click ok.
  • And then click on Everyone.
  • You will see permission for users below.
  • You will just choose full control and click ok.
  • After that you will need to open RUN and then type services.msc and click ok.
