Documents and Settings access denied windows 7.No other user accounts are visible so why can't I change things on my own computer? Do you have any ideas that might help me?
The “Documents Settings” folder is not actually a folder that used by the Windows Seven. And this is what we called actually junction point. And you will see, this folder is actually shaded out by shortcut overlay. You will be able to see the junction points, if you already have unchecked the box "Hide the protected files of operating system ".
In the Windows Seven, “Documents & Settings“ has, replaced by the "Users". And then each account of user will have Documents, videos, Pictures, etc. The junction points are to give backwards compatibility for the older programs which are not aware of the new structure of folder in the Windows Seven. Any program which is hardcoded in order to install the files in old Documents & Settings will silently be redirected to new location.
