If you receive this error after inserting a USB device like a USB flash drive on the USB port, remove the USB device then restart the computer. It is possible that error code 43 is just a temporary problem reported by the hardware. After booting the computer, insert the USB device again. If the error appears again, remove the USB device then shut down the computer.

Wait about 10 to 20 seconds then start the computer again. This is different from simply restarting the computer. Connect the USB device then see what happens. If the USB device still triggers the error code 43, uninstall the USB device from the Device Manager. With the USB device still connected on the USB port, right-click “My Computer” then select “Properties.”

Select “Hardware” tab and click “Device Manager.” Expand “Universal Serial Bus controllers” then uninstall everything you see under this category like USB Host Controller, USB Root Hub, and any USB Mass Storage Device.

Uninstall USB devices and controllers

When you are finished, close the window and restart the computer. Windows should reinstall all USB controllers you’ve removed. Try inserting the USB device again.
