I am looking for some guides to access Windows Firewall. When I am updating the firewall settings, I have clicked on ‘Use recommended settings’ and I got the error message ‘Firewall settings cannot change’. Is there any problem with my operating system or my data files? I have no idea what is happening if anybody knows how to fix this problem, please let me know. I will thankful for all the help and support.

To change firewall settings in windows XP you should make sure that you are using service pack 3 to get latest updates regarding firewall and to resolve these kinds of unwanted problems. Follow this to change windows firewall settings: my network places > properties > network tasks > change windows firewall settings. If you can not modify or change firewall then the other way is to configure windows firewall for certain programs and some specific ports. Again you can follow the steps:

  • Check your internet settings.
  • Internet Explorer > Tools menu > Internet Options > Connections tab > Click Dial when network connection disconnected.
  • Unblock the firewall settings. I attach a photo of that.
  • Disable all third party software’s.

Your problem should solve by these steps. Thanks.
