Is it possible to transfer a file from my Windows XP computer to 5 different Linux machines at the same time? If yes, how?

For sure it is possible to transfer a file from a windows XP computer to other five Linux machines. I am assuming that you have the computers connected on a local area network.

Since the computers are on a local area network, and they are using the same domain settings, you can access the shared folders. So all you need to do is the following:

  • Get all the information that you want to transfer from the windows XP machine to the Linux machines and put it in one folder on in public document on the XP machine.
  • Make sure that you have turned network discovery on and you have also enabled public folder sharing.
  • You can then use the each of the Linux machines to access the shared folder on the XP machine and then copy the data that you need to transfer.
