What are the features of the Panasonic Toughbook CF-19? Are there any features that only a Toughbook has that make other laptops fail in comparison?

Hi, Harold! I never knew anything about Toughbook till I saw your question. I browsed the web and looked for good articles about this Toughbook. After reading blogs and articles, I found a lot of features this Toughbook only has. Just by one look you could already tell its difference from other gadgets. In this case maybe we could apply the saying “don’t judge the book by its cover”.

It may be chunky, a bit heavy and has a not-so-good design. This gadget is more than just a laptop. It is not designed for those at home, but designed for those people who are working outside or are adventurous. Its chassis is built from magnesium alloy and plastic. This gadget has undergone military and industrial testing to prove its durability. This is specially made for engineers and adventurers because this gadget is vibration, shock, water and dust resistant, making it different from all other laptops.

The Panasonic Toughbook CF-19 ships with Microsoft Windows Vista Business and runs on Intel Core 2 Duo SU9300 1.2 GHz processor, 4 GB RAM, 160 GB SATA hard drive, and Intel GMA 4500MHD video card with 128 MB video RAM. It has Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n, two USB 2.0 ports, Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR support, Ethernet port, SD card reader, and FireWire.

It measures 10.7 x 8.5 x 1.9 inches and weighs 5 pounds. Native resolution is set to 1024 x 768. The laptop’s spill-resistant keyboard looks cramped as if it was ripped from a first-generation netbook. Some keys are shrunken and misplaced. You probably won’t like it when typing long compositions. The tab key is undersized and the arrow keys are positioned in a frustrating “L” shape.

The Panasonic Toughbook CF-19 laptop includes a shock-mounted display and hard drive aside from having a magnesium alloy chassis and sealed ports. Also, the 160 GB hard drive can easily be removed in case of emergency. The laptop can also endure a 3-foot drop with the screen open.

This machine also passes the military spray test (MIL-STD-810F, Method 506.4) which means it can withstand wind blowing at 40 miles per hour with the unit turned on but closed ports. It runs on six-cell battery which lasts a remarkable 7 hours and 45 minutes normal battery rundown time. But with Wi-Fi on, it lasts about 5 hours and 29 minutes.
