Hello,

I have been trying to install Apple Final Cut studio 3 and I keep getting this error message saying that the source media is damaged. I am working on Mac OS X 10.5.1. Someone suggested trying to clean the disk I am trying to install from using a dry lint free cloth. I tried this method and found that nothing changed. However when I tried to use the same disk to install on an iMac G5, there are no issues!!! But on my 10.5 machine, once the audio content 1 disk is done with, it asks for the original final cut install disk and gives the error message. What could be wrong? Is this a compatibility issue? Please help. I am clueless as to how to fix this problem. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Regards

The source media you are installing from is damaged. Try installing from a different copy of the source media or contact the manufacturer for a replacement.

If you want to install and use Final Cut Pro Studio 3 on your computer, you need to update your operating system because you are only using Mac OS X 10.5.1 Leopard. Your computer doesn’t meet the minimum system requirements of the application. Final Cut Pro Studio 3 requires Mac OS X 10.5.6 Leopard and higher.

To update your operating system, click on the Apple menu on your desktop and select System Update. Install the update on the next screen and restart your computer. In case you are prompted, enter your administrator username and password to continue. Install Final Cut Pro Studio 3 and see if this fixes the problem.

It also requires QuickTime 7.6 and higher. You can download the latest version from QuickTime 7 Download.
