How to delete a app stuck in update?

I have Groupon app on my iPod which I installed about two months ago. I got a update for the app before one month but the update has not completed yet. Today too, the progress bar is stuck and I cannot even delete the app. How can I remove the app completely so that it will not have any CPU and memory usage.

P.S I have the 4th Generation iPod Touch with iOS 6.1.3.

Hi Donald,

At times, iPod Touch Apps can be stuck during the process of their installation. Holding down on the home button to delete such apps will not show the "x" symbol that appears on other icons for the purpose of deleting it.

1. You should press on the top button for some time and slide on the screen to power off the iPod Touch as indicated.
2. Go to App Store and log out temporarily by navigating to Settings -> Store. Sign out as the existing user from the Apple ID. When you log in again, the stuck App will be reset.
3. If the issue still persists, the Apps should be downloaded from iTunes on the computer and the iPod Touch should be synced with it.

Anyet
