Hi,

One of our users gets the following issue when accessing a given .xlsx file in a document repository. The enduser can access other files in the same repository fine. We're not using Excel Calculation Services. The enduser is using Office 2010 (x86). Our SharePoint farm is 2007. If the document originator copies the file to another location within sharepoint, the enduser is able to access it just fine. It's just weird. Help me. Thanks.

Hi Ricky,

You have already done some troubleshooting steps to pin point the problem. Since the user is able to access the Excel file in some other location, it leads me to believe that the user does not have permission to download files from that particular folder. You or the admin need to verify this by going to the SharePoint settings and checking the permissions or members in the list of users for that folder. Refer the Microsoft online help to see how can manage the permissions on the SharePoint.
