Hey, I still use internet explorer due to my work reasons, and while navigating to web pages, I came across the error which says webpage cannot be ‘displayed’. Any ideas how do I fix this?
Hey there, this is an ambiguous error since it does not let you know the exact reason why it occurred. Here, I shall provide you with a few methods which you can try:
1. Reboot the router/modem.
Sometimes it happens that the router experiences a glitch while establishing the connection to the ISP providers. Try unplugging and/or shutting down the router and restarting it after 30 secs.
2. Check Antivirus and Firewall settings
It may happen that the web page you are trying to access may be blocked by either the Firewall due to system violations or by the Antivirus.
3. Try resetting your Internet Explorer.
To do this,
a. Click on ‘Internet options’ in ‘Tools’ menu located in the front or the starting page of the Internet Explorer.
b. Under ‘Advanced’ tab, click on ‘Reset’
c. Similarly, under the ‘Internet Explorer Default Settings’ and ‘Reset Internet Explorer Settings’, click on ‘Reset’.
d. Click on Close followed by clicking ‘OK’ twice consecutively.
e. Exit and Restart the Browser.

If you have Windows 7, the highest possible version you can install is Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 but you need to update to Windows 7 Service Pack 1. If you have Windows 8, Microsoft Internet Explorer 10 comes pre-installed. To install Microsoft Internet Explorer 11, you need to update to the latest Service Pack, Windows 8.1. Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 does not support Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012.
The latest Microsoft web browser is Microsoft Edge but it is only available for Microsoft Windows 10.
