Recently I lost my phone or I think it got stolen. I had recently updated the software on it and was on Android 5.0. I heard that a few iteration of Android back, a data manager had been installed on Google for erasing private data and tracking the device. Can anyone walk me through the steps to use this device data manager?

Hello, Dennis!

I am sorry to inform you that you needed to enable and activate these settings before, because you can’t do so once your device has been lost or stolen, remotely. That is a nice thing to know in the future, when dealing with the same situation, because Google Android device manager can indeed help you with this matter and that option is supported.

Hello,

If you have Google sync configured on a device or an Android device with the Google Apps Device Policy app installed, your Google Admin console can be utilized to remotely wipe the device. Application data can be removed or the entire device can be wiped. Unfortunately, you must install this prior to losing your phone. You can also use SMS and certain applications to track your phone with GPS. Your phone can also be tracked through the actions of the thief. Utilize a search engine to find the best option for your situation and hardware.
