Error Synchronizing MS Outlook Calendar with Blackberry

I encountered the following error message when I tried to synchronize my Outlook 2003 calendar entries with my Blackberry Curve smartphone: "Error encountered. Error code – 0x80043ac9. Check documentation." This error message appears only when my phone has already processed 20 records out of 80.

Please note in the screenshot below that the calendar had started to synchronize with the phone, but stopped when it reached Record 20.

I have not encountered any problem in synchronizing Outlook Contacts or Memos. I have only experienced this problem with Outlook Calendar.

I have read several posts in the support forums about the same problem, and apparently, the solution was to eliminate Birthday contact entries. Here's the link to the forum:

However, I do not have Birthday entries and my problem is in Outlook Calendar (not Contacts).

I've been thinking that this error is a result of bad calendar contact entries, but I am not entirely sure. Any ideas in solving this problem will be greatly appreciated.

This is a common problem for blackberry phones.

First thing to do is, get rid of the error.

Once you have done that, try restarting your phone and your computer then make sure that there are no entries opened.

After you have restarted both devices, on your blackberry phone, go to reset config and choose MS OUTLOOK for each item, i.e tasks, memos and etc.

If you are running BES 4.1.4.15, Exchange 2003 SP2 and Outlook 2003, this will possibly help you.

It is a common problem of Blackberry mobile phones when synchronizing.

But it can be solved.

Follow these instructions.

  1. First, you have to go to top left menu and you have to choose the option given on the left.
  2. Second, you have to scroll down to the third option, which is to save or backup, and then select ‘Address Book’. You have to save that to My Document’. For example, an.ipd file.
  3. Then you have to go back to the top left menu and you have to choose ‘Delete’. You also have to select ‘Address Book’.
  4. After which, delete the address book and then restore the .ipd file.
  5. You can now synchronize it with Outlook.
