I just bought this laptop 3 days ago. I was able to use everything with it eventually it showed “There was a problem… sysmenu.dll” after I downloaded something from the internet. Can we still fix this problem? Give me ways and options on how to resolve this problem? What could be the cause of this issue? Is it because of the download file or is it in the system? Please tell me what are the things I need to remember before doing anything with this laptop before I fix it?

Thank you very much and have a nice day!

First of all, scan the system for any virus or malware attack.

If the issue still persists, you can try following these steps in order,
  • Click Start
  • Open Run & type mscnfig
  • Uncheck sysmenu.dll under Boot Tab if it is checked
  • Delete if there are any keys relating to sysmenu.dll
Also, if there are tasks like "SMupdate1.job, SMupdate2.job and SMupdate3.job"  in the Windows Tasks folder, delete them.

Further more it is advisable to Download and run Windows Repair Tool.

Best regards!
