Hi!

I was recently having some trouble saving a data source from an Excel Spreadsheet. I was hoping someone can help me out. I was making a Custom Pod when the error popped up.

It was regarding my BMC Dashboard, but as I recalled I had it installed properly without any issues whatsoever.

Error

BMCBSD000027: An error occurred while trying to add a data source.

I don’t know what to do and if anyone has an idea on how to fix this please give some advice.

Thank you so much.

Such error occurs due to Dashboards can only use SQL Server Authentication. This error message is telling us that data source has been disabled in Dashboards. You need to use an existing configured SQL Server Authentication or create a new one. Another cause of this problem is that Windows does not support the JDBC-OBDC bridge driver on 64-bit, meaning to say Excel Data Sources don’t work on a 64- bit Operating System. Possible solution for this problem is to use a 32-bit Operating System. You can also use RDBMS as your data source. Another solution is to wait for new BMC Dashboards for BSM that will access Excel Data Sources.
