Hi Expert friends,

When I updated my Paltalk to latest version 9.9 I got this error after a day. In the beginning it was working but I ended up with an error notice. I tried to login with a different name but nothing works. I tried to re-install the version and I uninstalled the old one. Any idea to solve the problem, please help. Thanks.

Make sure you are using the latest version and your operating system is supported. To download the latest version, visit Paltalk Video Chat Room. It supports Windows XP Service Pack 3, Windows Vista, Windows 7 x86 and x64, and Windows 8. It also requires Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 and higher.

In case while using Paltalk you received a security alert from your antivirus or security scanners like the one below, you need to make sure that your scanner or antivirus should “always allow” or “allow” Paltalk to connect to the internet. You also need to exclude it from future scanning. See image.

If you tried using the web client version of Paltalk and you encounter a problem, this is maybe because of the incompatible versions of DLL files left by the web rooms on the computer. In this case, you need to run the web conference uninstaller. But unfortunately, because of the release of the recent versions, this uninstaller is no longer being provided.

There is also a rare issue where you always end up with an old version being installed even if you downloaded and installed the latest version. This is a very rare problem and is caused by old files that were left in the Windows Temp folder. If this happens to you, open Windows Explorer and navigate to “C:WINDOWSTemp”. Find and delete the following files:

  • Paltalk.exe
  • ctrlkey.dll
  • ftpclient.dll
  • WebVideo.dll
  • palsound.dll
  • PalTextCtl.dll
  • shfolder.dll
