It's problem with XP Service Pack 3. It's not a problem with iPod services. But It can be fixed this way.

1. Right click on "My Computer", select "Properties".
2. Click on the Advanced tab.
3. In the Startup and Recovery section, click the Settings button.
4. Click the Edit button to edit your boot.ini file in notepad.
5. Look for "/noexecute=" in the file and change the word after the equals to "option".
6. Save the file, close the notepad, click OK button on Startup and Recovery window, then reboot.

Antivirus software such as Norton Antivirus also causes conflict when installing I-tunes software.
Before installing i-tunes temporarily disable any anti-virus program that you are running.

If you are downloading iTunes 10.

1. You can also try downgrading it into iTunes 9.2.1.
2. After downgrading, Copy and paste the folder Program FilesiPod to your desktop.
3. Reinstall iTunes 10. When an error occurred, just ignore it.
4. Replace the new folder at Program FilesiPod with the one you previously saved.(iTunes 9.2.1).
5. Run iTunes 10.

When all this option doesn't work. Simply reformat your PC to it's known last good configuration, reboot then try reinstalling iTunes.

Hi there,

I think you are facing problem regarding installation of iTunes, make sure you have downloaded the latest version, if not go to this URL to download the latest and updated version of Apple iTunes.

The URL is: – www.apple.com/itunes/download/

Before that try to uninstall any version which you have first this is important, just go to control panel and add or remove programs and in that find iTunes and then uninstall it first and then download the latest iTunes from the above URL and then install it, If you are done then have a system restart and then iTunes will start to work.

This error message “iPodService Module (32-bit) has encountered a problem and needs to close” is due to the iTunes 10 update.

You can resolve the problem with:

-Downloading the latest www.apple.com/itunes/download/
-Backup your files of "Program FilesiPod".
-Installing your iTunes (setup).
-Run iTunes.
