Hi friends,

Friends suggested me to use the Avira Free Antivirus, they said it’s good. So I tried to download the Avira and I installed, it went well without any issues. The problem triggered when I try to initiate the first scan in the computer. It shows that it scanned 100% but I am getting this error message. Do I need to increase my memory? I am confused, please help. Thank you.

The instruction at 0x00117186 referenced memory at 0x79e0b805. The memory could not be read.

This is actually not a problem in the Avira antivirus. I also see this on my computer from time to time and honestly, it happens anywhere and anytime on any program running on the computer. And it doesn’t only appear before or after running a program. You will also see this when the computer is shutting down before Windows logs off.

I think the problem is in the manner data are being fetched to and from the memory. Maybe when it is too fast or too many information are being transferred and processed, a conflict is generated along the way and that’s how the error appears. You don’t need to upgrade or increase the amount of RAM you have.

When you see this, just close the program and restart the computer. Your system will be back to normal after restarting it. It is like a glitch in the memory or in the system when too many processes are being handled. This is only a temporary error and nothing serious. But if this happens regularly, you may have a defective memory card.
