Hello!
I was copying a video onto a DVD so it can be played on a regular DVD player and was using a software tool in order to do so when randomly I got this error message, see screenshot below. I tried copying several times on different new DVDs and got the same error. I wasn’t so sure how to check the driver since I have done this before.Â
Any advice on what to do next?
Please help.
The drive reported an error:
Sense Key = MEDIUM ERROR
Sense Code = 0x73, 0x03
                    OK

Error encountered when copying a video to DVD media
It is likely that the DVD media that you are using are low quality media. Try using more reliable media and try to do another run.
-
Try checking Buffer Under run Prevention in Recorder Settings. Have it activated.
-
Try burning at lower speeds instead of using Best setting. Perhaps 1x would be necessary for some DVD media.
It is also possible that the laser on your DVD writer is dusty and you need to have it cleaned using cd/DVD lens cleaners that you can purchase in most computer shops or it is going bad and the DVD writer may need to be replaced.
