Hey visitor, I am not convinced as to why this error occurs, but I will suggest some solutions to tackle it. So here we go:

Solution 1: Completely disable all firewalls and confirm whether the issue was happening because of them. To do so,

  • To do so, you must press the Windows logo key and R key simultaneously.
  • Type using your keyboard “Control Panel” and then press Enter key.
  • Look for System and Security and open it.
  • In the right section of the screen, you must click on Windows Firewall.
  • Click on “Turn off Windows firewall.”

Solution 2: You must be sure that you are using your Primary ID for logging in.

Solution 3: Also, you must install Microsoft Silverlight and Java again.

Solution 4: Your computer should be directly connected to the U-verse router to avoid any problems.

If you receive error code “3.8” in AT&T U-verse, uninstall and reinstall Java. Download Java SE Runtime Environment 9 or visit Java SE Downloads to see the list of available Java Runtime Environments. Java Runtime Environment 9 is available only for 64-bit Microsoft Windows. If you need the 32-bit version, download Java SE Runtime Environment 8.

This version is available for both 32-bit and 64-bit Microsoft Windows. If this doesn’t work, download the latest Silverlight plug-in and update the existing version. If this doesn’t work, disable your firewall or internet security temporarily. Also, make sure you are connected directly to the U-verse router when testing and you are logged in using your primary ID. If the problem continues, update your browser.

For Firefox, go to Mozilla Firefox download page. To get the offline installer, click the “Advanced install options & other platforms” link then under “Advanced Install Options & Other Platforms”, click the version you want to download. This downloads the standalone installer. For Chrome, go to Google Chrome download page. This page downloads the standalone installer for Google Chrome.
