Hi all,

I am using QuickTime to view videos, listen to music, watch photo'.

On one occasion , I wanted to look at a video from the internet, I meet an error, I pasted below.

Error 47:  Invalid URL.  ()

I encountered this error this morning, when I clicked on open URL. I first restarted  my computer, since I have just exited my game. After rebooting my computer I tried again, same problem existed. I also checked on my internet connection, it was up and running, I don't have any DNS filter. I also checked my firewall, there is no restriction.

Please help figure out on my problem.

Thanks.

Hi SteveCanry,

  •  First check you’re Language Settings. Go to Language and Text System Preference Pane and choose “ English”; then see if you will get the same error.  If this does not fix the issue, try the solution below.
  •  Go to https://www.technipages.com/download-orca-msi-editor. Follow the instructions for you to download and install orca.msi.
  •  Uninstall QuickTime then restart your computer.
  •  Open QuickTime installer  but do not install the software yet. Just leave the window open.

1. Using Orca, go to the temp folder and look for quicktime.msi package.

2. Click on “View”; then click on “Summary Information”.  Supported language will appear as 1033, 1036, 1031, 1041, 1043, 1040, 2052, 1034, 1030, 1035, 1042, 1044, 1053, 1028.

3. Delete everything except for 1033 then save.

4. You may now continue to proceed with installing QuickTime.

English version will now be installed properly and you will not see the error anymore.

Cheers!

Stevecanry,

  •  The problem you might be facing is that of the player settings not correctly configured or either the video codecs /settings, required to play it are not configured.
  •  The codecs for playing the video in the URL might have been corrupted or missing. You need to remove the codecs and reinstall them, as well as reinstall the player.
  •  If that doesn't work, you can copy the link and try playing with another player. You may also try deleting some files off the registry and try whether it  works.

Thanks
