Can someone please help me? I am using WiiU and I want to download games from the Nintendo eShop but I am always getting "Error 111-9000: An unexpected error has occurred. The software will now close".The miiverse is not working correctly. How can I fix this? I don't think that there is something wrong with my Internet connection. Please tell me what to do. Thanks.

Error 111-9000 is associated with the same situation you have. You will not be able to connect to the eShop or your connection will usually time-out due to wireless interference. To troubleshoot this issue, try the following steps:

1. Check if the issue is due to wireless interference. This is between your console and your router. Place your Wii U near your router while connecting to the eShop. For more troubleshooting steps on checking the wireless interference, click here.

2. Enter the IP address and the DNS to your Wii U manually. To do this:

  • Search for your IP address information.
  • Choose System Settings on your Wii U Menu.
  • Then tap the Connect to the Internet option.
  • Press the X button or just tap the Connections on the upper right side of the screen.
  • Choose IP Address on the arrow to the right.
  • Tap the Don't Auto-Obtain and type the following details. Ensure that you will enter the " " between the set of numbers. Tap the IP Address option and then type your IP address and add 10 to the IP Address stated in your computer. If your PC's IP address shows 192.168.2.5, type in your Wii U as 192.168.2.15. Then tap the Subnet Mask and type the subnet mask according to your network settings such as 255.255.255.000. Tap the Gateway option and type the default gateway according to your network settings.
  • Tap Confirm and you will receive a message and will ask you to configure your DNS settings. Tap Later if you already did this step or Configure if you still haven't configure this step.

Alternatively, if the above steps did not resolve your issue, contact 1-800-255-3700 to report the issue you are facing.

Error 111-9000 on Connecting to Nintendo eShop

“Error Code: 111-9000” on your Nintendo Wii U means your Nintendo gaming console cannot access the Nintendo eShop. It can also happen when accessing other online applications. This error is the result when your connection is timing out which is often caused by wireless interference. It can happen if there is a wireless interference between your wireless router and your Nintendo Wii U.

The easiest way to fix it is to transfer your Nintendo Wii U gaming console to the same room where your wireless router is located. The distance of your Nintendo system from the wireless router is important because the farther your Nintendo system from the wireless router is, the weaker its signal will be. And if your Nintendo system is receiving very weak signal, it can cause connection interruptions.

If moving your Nintendo system closer to your router is not possible, try moving any electronic devices or metal objects away from your Nintendo system and wireless router. Metal objects and electronic devices can cause or can interfere with wireless signals.
