Just today, I downloaded the free evaluation version of SQL Server 2012 RC0. 

When trying to install it, I received an error in Windows Update when the setup is checking for the recent updates that will improve SQL Server 2012 security and implementation.

How can I repair it?

I think this is only a minor issue in Windows Update and there should be nothing to worry about.

When you tried to install the free evaluation version of SQL Server 2012 RC0, it tried to check for any updates through Windows Update but it failed to search for any update so it displayed an error message.

You can click Next to continue with the installation and check for updates later manually.

It’s possible that there is really no update on the software and the error can be ignored. Or you can cancel the installation by clicking the Cancel button and restart the installation again.

Check your connection first if you have an active internet connection before restarting the installation so you will not see that error message again.
