Hello everyone, When I turn on my laptop, the message “The WDDM service is not running”. How can I solve this?
I found this answer Just go to Start -> Control panel -> Administrative Tools -> Service
Check the WDDM service. Right-click Properties. Click the General tab.
Choose to Start sorting. Set the option to AUTOMATIC. Then, support the services and restart them.
Another solution is to uninstall WD Smartware. Restart your laptop and insert it as soon as you insert the drive. I will try the first and then the second answer
The full error reads:
“WDDM service not running.”
This problem normally happens when you have a Western Digital external hard drive. The cause of the problem is the Western Digital SmartWare, the software that comes with the drive which you can find on the virtual CD when you plug the drive to your computer. The workaround is to just reinstall it.
Disconnect the drive from your computer. Download the free version of Revo Uninstaller and install. Once installed, start Revo then select Western Digital SmartWare among the applications and click “Uninstall.” Follow the normal uninstall process. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click to restart later. When uninstall is complete, click “Scan” to scan your computer for any leftover files and click to delete everything it finds.
This removes everything the program created on your computer. When it is finished, exit Revo then restart the computer. After booting, plug your Western Digital drive to your computer then install the software back when you are prompted. This should make the WDDM service to work again.
