Encountering error when starting the NetZero software
Error code 02 can occur when more than once instance of a program is running.
It can be an annoying error because finding the culprit which is causing error can be frustrating as well as tedious.
Luckily, this error can be solved by a couple tried and tested methods.
Solution 1: Restart your computer
While this may seems like a simple solution, it is a fact that many common computer problems can be solved by simply restarting the system. This can be accomplished by following these steps:
1. Click on the Start icon located at the lower-left corner of the computer screen.
2. Select restart from the available options.
Solution 2: Use the Task Manager
The task manager, included in every version of Windows, is an excellent tool that can be used to resolve this issue. It is an application that lists all of the currently running applications or processes on the computer. This application also allows the user to terminate unneeded software. This can be accomplished by following these steps:
1.Click CTRL-ALT-DEL: This button combination will cause a screen to appear on the screen that will list a few options. Please choose the option named Task Manager.
2. Once the task manager is open, all of the currently running applications will be listed. Scan the list to see if an application called Netzero is present. If so, click on it and choose End Task. This will stop the currently running program and allow for the Netzero software to load.
3. If Netzero is not listed under the applications tab, then choose the processes tab and search for any running process that resembles Netzero. This process should be called netzero.exe or something similar. Once located, right-click on the name and choose End Process if only one instance of the software is running or End Process Tree if more than instance of the software is listed.
These two solutions should solve the error that is occurring with your Netzero software. By either restarting the computer or terminating the task, the error should be resolved and there should be no problem in starting up the Netzero software.
