Hi brainy,

I am using the Encode to MPEG Audio action, here files can be created from audio source files of types AIF, WAVE etc. but now I am facing this error 2700. I am not a technical person; it’s hard to explain in words so I have attached the image. Why I am getting this error? Please help me to resolve this error and find the solution. Thanks.

ENCODING ERROR -2700

No encodable audio files of type AIFF, AIFC, Sd2f, CAFF, or WAVE were passed to this action.

Encoding error to MPEG Audio action

By default, if you are using Mac OS X 10.7 Lion, Encode to MPEG Audio or this Automator Service is already available as a built-in encoding service. You don’t have to install it manually and I think it is not available as a download from any other sources. If you don’t have this on your computer then you are probably using an older version of Mac OS X like Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard and earlier.

If you are using Encode to MPEG Audio to convert a file, check if the file has audio because this is probably what’s causing the error. If the file you are trying to convert doesn’t have audio component then nothing or Encode to MPEG Audio action won’t find the data to convert and will probably cause the problem.

Check the file first if it has audio and then convert it. But if it doesn’t have then don’t convert it. You can check if it has audio by playing the file.
