Dr web anti virus against the trojan hunter

I had recently decided Dr web antivirus as my program for anti-virus.

Do you have an experience with this program?

Is dr web as good as anti-trojan?

The Trojan Hunter database has more ways dealing with Trojans but I do need an extra AT. I think the drweb antivirus database is also quite good but probably not as extensive as KAV or RAV.

I have only trialled it but I thought it was very good. It hasn't performed very well in some recent AV tests that I have seen on this board though.

I don't know if that is something to be concerned about.

Thanks in advance for any responses.

Hello Sujan,

Dr. Web is an above average anti-virus. While being simple to use and something which requires no installation it can be helpful in situations when your PC is already infected.

I have always been a proponent of layered security and have been against maintaining multiple anti-virus software.

You may consider switching to KAV or RAV or Avast anti-virus, but my suggestion would be installing an anti-spyware/malware software as well, I have found Malware bytes to be good with a decent detection rate.

This way you are not relying on one software for protection and the approach also provides a better sense of security.

Hope this helps.
