Windows XP could not download updates or run system restore

I can't download or install updates or the system restore. I need help for the system restore to come back as I cannot restore. The updates are the same. It is not updating. Please help.

Windows XP could not download updates or run system restore

This combination usually happens after a virus attack. That is why I recommend to scan the computer using an Antivirus program. I hope you have one on your PC. If not, then download Superantispyware and install a free version. Scan your PC and if something is there, this program will detect and remove. After that I would suggest to find some Antivirus such as ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4 or similar.

There can be one more possibility and that is, in case when your Antivirus is running, for some reason the Antivirus has blocked the system restore and updates. Try to disable the Antivirus and then test system restore and updates.
