Do I Really Need to Care About My Privacy Online?

I was just wandering in a park about the security and tightness of the accounts on the WWW. We all have accounts on different sites like Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, Facebook, Twitter and others but have we ever wondered how and how well are they protected? Are we always safe from cyber criminals and crimes along with frauds? Do we need to sit back, relax and have a donut or should we be too much tensed by the loop holes on todays technology?

Do I Really Need to Care About My Privacy Online?

Hello Carl!

There is only one way to avoid being mugged by this hackers – “Awareness”

We cannot stop these hackers, we cannot control them, and nobody can control the WWW. As an expert, one thing that I always keep in mind is that every time I sign-up for new social websites I alter some of the information about me.

SOCIAL WEBSITES – OWNS ALL RIGHTS AND CAN DO ANYTHING THEY WANT ON THE FILES AND MESSAGES THAT YOU ALWAYS POST IN THEIR SITES.

1. Facebook, Twitter, and many more owns everything about you in their social media sites. We should have read carefully their “Terms and Conditions” before clicking “Yes, I Understand the T&C….” The first time we open new account. Let say myself, I posted a nude picture in my social account, whether accidental or intentional, if I am going to remove it from my profile. Off course, it will not appear anymore in my profile. Remember, that picture is already saved in their databases. I agreed in their terms and conditions. They own everything about my profile and they can do anything they want with it. We misinterpreted computers work. If we are going to delete any posts, any pictures, or just anything, those deleted data/picture/files are still save in their databases.

Always Remember – in applying for new account in social websites “IT IS OKAY” to place incorrect birthday, false name, false mother’s maiden name, false school affiliation, etc. It is not a crime. It is easy to tell your friends please accept my request to become your friend I just used false name.

WHAT IS YOUR MOTHER’S MAIDEN NAME? WHAT IS YOUR FIRST PET’S NAME?

1. These are the common “Security Questions” that you have to answer in applying for new account in any social websites. The answer to this questions are the only way to unlock your account if you forgot your password and username. Make sure that if you have to answer these questions look in to your address bar and it should be showing https:// in the beginning. Requesting for a “Recovery Link” will be the safest option.

CONGRATULATIONS! YOU WON $650,000.00 IN OUR DAILY DRAW OR FOR BEING THE 100th VISITOR IN OUR SITE!

1. For Christ’s sake! Don’t fall in to this scam. Try to click “Get and Claim your Prize Now” link in that scam page. The next page that will show it will ask you to submit your full name, mother’s maiden name, birthday, where you graduated and more about you.

UNLIMITED POP-UPS IN YOUR BROWSERS

1. Once you launch any browser you sometimes by mistake click these pop-ups and will redirect you to a different site. Always read before clicking and answering anything. Eyesight problems is not an issue here. Reading first before clicking is the best way for you to prevent information leak. Try to download pop-up blockers to prevent this from happening.
