Hi

I use an XPS M1530 and I am running Vista- Ultimate 64-bit on it.

Last week Dell Dock stopped running and it would just provide me with an error message that it ran into a trouble and has to close. Then I clicked on send error statement and then it tried to restart Dell Dock, then it just it shows me that there was an error presenting the report so try once more, but it just won't perform anything then. Also I've reinstalled but still get the same error. What should I do? Need your help. Thanks a lot.

HI Kenneth Nickerson,

Your Dell Dock is stopped working with a message " It ran into a trouble and needs to be closed". Seems you have some problem with Hardware, but also it can happen by Software problem. As you have already installed Windows newly so  first you need to troubleshoot some Hardware fact.

1. If you have installed any new hardware then disconnect that hardware from your laptop.

2. Remove your Battery and Reconnect your RAM ( With your laptop switched off )

( If you are not able to give reconnection to your RAM then ask someone who can do it, don't try by yourself )

3. Reconnect MOUSE and KEYBOARD and other removable devices .

4. Now with power connection try to open it, you may find that your laptop is doing well , Shut it down and reinstall laptop battery.

Now your laptop is okay to use like old time.
