Deleting Applications on a Mac

I have a MacBook, but this question is relating to Macs on a whole. I know that when you download an app on a Windows computer you go to the "add/remove" option in the control panel. But normally, when I want to remove an app on my Mac, I simply delete it ; then remove it from my trash can.

Is this the correct way to go by it or is there another method?

Hey,

That is a good method.  However, there are other proper and preferred methods to COMPLETELY remove the files.

Use the installer program.  On the app you are trying to remove, take a look and see if it has the remove option or sometimes uninstall the go from then.

Another Method would be, using the Launchpad if you have it on your computer. Simply,

  • Start Launchpad, usually found on your dock;
  • Select the app you want to remove.
  • Click and hold down the button on the mouse until app wiggles.
  • You will see an X- Click on it and then click Delete.
  • And after that the removal is complete.
  • Thanks a lot and good luck.
