Contact Names and Messages stopped showing in notification bar on Incredible 2

My Incredible 2 suddenly stops on showing the contact names and messages in my notification bar. How can I restore it back to its default settings so my contacts and messages will become visible again in my notification area?

Try restarting your phone and see what happens after that. If nothing has changed, turn off your phone then open its back cover and then remove its battery. Keep it detached for a couple of minutes to drain your phone from all the charges supplied by the battery. Install the battery again after a while then start again your phone and then check it.

If doing all of these didn’t do anything good on your problem, try going to the market and then download a terminal emulator. You can find some free ones there. After downloading the emulator, open it then enter these:

1. su
2. chmod 666 /data/data/com.android.providers.contacts/files/*

This will change the permissions set on the contacts folder. Try this one and see if this fixes it.
