Connection refused AND xrdb: Can’t open display ‘:1002’

Hello all!

Via FreeNX/NX, I’m going to log into LXDE workstation. My system is upgraded to 12.1 from 11.4. The users on 11.4 are unable to login when new users are formed after the upgrade process. NX authentication process is finished successfully and the M windows disappear after 3 or 4 seconds. Searched for the ~/.nx/C-host-xxxx/sessions file displays the following errors below. A core file also appeared in the user’s home directory. I failed to analyze it.

Info: Established X client connection.

I would like to ask you if you have x11-xserver-utils already been installed?

If you are having this, then try to eliminate freenx-session-launcher and continue a session.

If after a session it further print “NXAGENT”

1-"/usr/lib/nx/nxagent" need not be present. nxagent package put nxagent at
/usr/bin/
If you  are having this, try to remove.

2-After that when you have already removed "$which nxagent"then there must be printed "/usr/bin/nxagent".

3-You need to try to washout freenx-* packages, clear all last installations by removing them (ex.
/usr/lib/nx/*)
     and install back.

If you have replaced all last versions of freenx and put in the index /usr/lib/nx/,
then again install  freenx-server.
If the link is still not practical, the attached session log is short (attached).

Please finish with
$nxloadconfig –and then try HELP

I hope you will not be stuck in this problem again and this will really help you out.

Feel free to ask.

Hello Honey,

If you are unable to access the display 1002, you will need to check if there isn't a lock to that display that could have been put in an older session. You could maybe try changing the DISPLAY_BASe in the node.conf which by default is 1000 to something different, for instance 2000. After that you will need to restart the NX server and then check what will happen in the event that a client tries accessing the display 2000+n.

Another thing that you need to try is connecting as the same user, the one you are unable to connect with, but from a different computer and see how that works.

Regards,

Carl
