Hi,
I need some information about the following error:
Microsoft Office 12.0 Access Database OLE DBO Connection Manager Error.
Connection Manager
Test connection failed because of an error in initializing provider. Unrecognized database format 'C:UsersPWF1DesktopVEICBook1.xlsx'
Help me please.

Connection failed error on initialization
There is one simple explanation to this. I have also done a lot of work in SQL and access database.

This error normally comes when you are trying to open an access database in SQL or at any other software which is made in higher version. For example you are trying to make a connection you are using a 2007 access file but you are using a 2005 SQL or any other software.

either save the file in 97-2003 access format which will be xls and not the xlsx or install some access engine exe from the website.

Download the access database engine driver form here. Install these drivers, restart the computer and then try to make the connection.

I had tried both of your suggestions Michelle Bang and you are correct. I tried to save it 97-2003 format and it became readable.
I also installed the database engine and I was able to make the connection. Thanks
