There are many jobs available for a programmer but it is listed under BS in Computer Science as a requirement when applying. Regardless of the skills and experiences that a programmer has, they will not consider it unless you will have a degree in Computer Science. So a degree in CS will help a lot for older programmers.

A degree in CS can be used on different fields in the industry. CS graduates can work as a programmer, developer and engineer. Or they can also be a security expert or work on an IT field such as investment banking, medical services since some of the major industry needs a support on developing and managing computer infrastructure.

Hi Vikram12345

Going back to school might expose you to new programming concepts and gain some experience in aspects of software development that you might not otherwise.

You might want to go back to school to boost your income in your current job  this has been seen where people even at managerial positions go back to class just to get an extra certificate to be able to get a pay rise.

Also, to be able to move into management, many companies now require that their managers have their Degree and preferably masters before they can be promoted past a certain level.
