Compatibility between OCS server and the LCS server

Hi,

In OCS server, I have some users. They can see LCS server clients but the other system round is not working. The LCS users cannot start any conversations with the OCS users because they don’t see them as online.

I want to solve this issue. Please help.

Compatibility between OCS server and the LCS server

Dear Katewoo,

This problem happened because you are supposed to use a hardware load balancer with OCS Enterprise because the pool and the server should have different IPs.

Then, the load balancer has an IP which resolves for ocspool.company.com and the server has an IP which resolves for ocsserver.company.com.

If you don't have a hardware load balancer, here is a workaround of what you should alternatively do:

• Try to add a second IP address to the OCS front end server.
• Change the DNS for the ocspool to resolve to the front end server new second IP address.
• ipconfig and flushdns on both the OCS and LCS.
• Restart the OCS front end services.
• Let LCS users log on of MOC and log back in.
