Help in migrating our Exchange Server 2010..

My Company had become Microsoft partner and we have purchased MAPS that will bring license for MS Exchange Server 2010 standard. Presently we are having BPOS and we do not have any idea about how the current license will work with the Exchange Server 2010. How can we migrate? Is there any downtime required for the migration? I have searched in lot of website and community sites, but I did not find any information. We are purchasing a new server and if this can do it will be very good to us. I will be thankful for your help to get out of this problem.

To upgrade from BPOS to MS Exchange Server 2010 is a simple process. It is as simple as just exporting of a .PST file from the Exchange Online and when you have done that you will import that file into the local mail server.

If you have SharePoint, then you would first of all need to create a back up of your data using the SharePoint Designer, and then after that you can proceed and move the data to the local SharePoint server. Another way to migrate from BPOS to MS Exchange server 2010 will be by the use of a third-party service which can make the process even more painless. SO you will just need which method is suitable for you and use it.
