Hello!

I tried to connect a new USB with this laptop. It keeps on showing nothing when I plug it. I tried to plug it in to my desktop and the USB is working. I reformatted the USB also to make it sure that it is clean. I tried it again to test if the USB will work for desktop and laptop. Only for desktop it worked. Is there any way that I can eliminate this problem and to prevent it from happening again? Can you provide me alternative resolutions for this problem? Please assist me with this problem.

Thank you!

Hi Lloyd,

Since the USB stick works fine on desktop, have you tried on different USB ports on the laptop?

Else you can download the relevant USB  drive from Goole and run it, however, before this does your laptop indicate the that the USB has been plugged in. If not it can be the case where the USB port could be faulty which can be fixed by re – installing the USB drive, For example if you are running on Windows 7 you can navigate to Device manager from the Start>My Computer> Right Click> choose properties and navigate to Device manager on the left hand side and you will find the list of  USB drivers listed there. Wherein you can re-install drives from there.

Many of the times the fault lies with the USB port, which you can re-install using the above procedure which will fix most the USB driver problem.
