I was browsing through some files on my computer, and I found the smex_master exe file on my hard drive. I do not recognize this file. I think it should not be there by default. What is this file, and is it harmful to my computer?

Can Smex_master Exe Harm The Computer

The smex_master exe file is used by Trend Micro Inc and is a servHost.exe file. It belongs to the Trend Micro Messaging Security Agent. It is a non-system process. This means that this file is not essential for the functioning of your system.

smex_master exe is an executable file. Since it is a non-system file, it is present on the computer only when you install an external program. When you install the Trend Micro Messaging Security Agent, the contents of smex_master exe file are used to install and run the program.
