Can Sentinel hdd detect problems or it can repair too?

I have faced the loss of my valuable data thrice this month. This made me to waste my precious time to do that work again. My friend told me about Sentinel hdd but even she does not know whether it can only detect the hard disk drive problems or repair them and in what other way can it help me and whether i can run it is run only on a desktop computer. Friends please give me your opinion.
