Hi guys,

The problem is with my Buffalo DriveStation 500GB USB 2.0 (HD-CE500U2) External Hard Disk.

I am using it on my machine for two years without any discrepancy. Last week I received an error message and found that the disk did not take back up.

Have a look at the error message. It is indicating about the improper ejection.

But I am sure that I had not removed the disk from my machine for the last one year. Have you any idea for the issue?

Please help.

Thanks in advance.

The disk was not ejected properly. If possible, always eject a disk before unplugging it or turning it off.

To eject a disk, select it in the Finder and choose File > Eject. The next time you connect the disk, Mac OS X will attempt to repair any damage to the information on the disk.

OK

Hi,

It is either a problem with the disk now or with the system. Try using it on a different system that will indicate if your External Hard Disk is alright or not. If it works the same on a different machine there’s a problem with your machine or either operating system. If it does not, then try getting your External Hard disk checked or do a clean format then try to use it.

Hope this solution would work for you.

Thanks
