Blackberry Desktop Software Shows Error

Hi,

I have a Blackberry phone and so I wanted to install the Blackberry desktop software on my computer. When I run the setup I get the error shown below. I have gone to control panel and I do not see any other version of this software in my computer. So what could be wrong now?

Error: A newer version of this application is already installed on this computer. If you wish to install this version, please uninstall the newer version first.. Click Ok to exit the wizard.

Blackberry Desktop Software Shows Error

Dear Thomas,

It seems like your problem has got easy solution.

While trying to install Blackberry Desktop, you got this error message. It means, you have got any other version of this software installed.

If so, the program setup is not able to overwrite the existing one. Also, the existing one is newer and older one is not willing to continue.

Simply uninstall the old one by accessing

Start menu >> Control Panel >> Programs and Features >> Uninstall a program >> select the old one and press Uninstall >> follow the wizard.

Then you are able to install the old version easily.

But you are recommended no to use this technique because always the latest version of programs cover all the best features that old version doesn’t. It depends on you whether you will use the old or new one.

Blackberry Desktop Software Shows Error

I've had this problem before as well. Although uninstalling may fix the problem for you I have found this it still exists after a fresh install. So what I did to solve this was download a program called Revo Uninstaller. This software completely removes all files, including the ones in the registry, which may be the cause of this error. I've attached a link to the download below.
